Poland Employment Stalls, Wages Increase Slows in September

The annual corporate employment in Poland was unchanged at 6.496 million in September, in line with market forecasts, marking the lowest reading since March 2021.
On a monthly basis, employment decreased by 0.1%. Considering the January-September period, it rose by 0.5% year-on-year to 6.527 million, data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed.
Poland's corporate sector wage growth slowed to 10.3% year-on-year to PLN 7,379.88 (EUR 1,660) in September, down from an 11.9% increase in the previous month, a separate report from the Warsaw-based agency showed. On a monthly basis, wages increased by 0.1%, with the largest gains observed in the other service activities section (3%).
Meanwhile, the highest value was seen in the information & communication section, PLN 12,313 (EUR 2,765), while the lowest was recorded in the accommodation & catering section, PLN 5,446 (EUR 1,223). The figures are for companies with more than nine employees.
