About 70 employees at soft-drinks distributor Coca-Cola in Howald will get a €700 bonus this year and a 1.4% pay increase next year under a long-delayed work agreement, a labour union said on Monday.

Workers this year will receive the bonus and a 12.5% top up of another bonus that is earmarked for maintaining uniforms, the OGBL said in a press release. Next year, employees at Coca Cola are in for an additional day of leave, a €150 gift voucher, the pay increase and other benefits, the union said.

Luxembourg's largest union last month threatened a work stoppage after 10 months of wage talks failed and last week staged a protest outside the company.

Coca Cola, which distributes Rosport bottled waters in addition to the soft drink, confirmed the contract details on Monday.

Coca Cola Europacific Partners Luxembourg, the main company of the drinks empire registered in Luxembourg, made a profit of €276 million in 2022 of which €260 million came in form of a dividend a British subsidiary paid to the company, according to filings from July in the business register.

The company paid a €270 million dividend to its parent Bottling Holdings (Luxembourg) sarl, according to filings.

Coca Cola Europacific Partners Luxembourg had 71 full-time staff in 2022.
