September 4 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government plans to increase the minimum monthly wage in the country by 17.8% to 47,154 dinars ($435/402 euro) as of January 1, 2024, finance minister Sinisa Mali said on Monday.
“Our proposal is to make the highest percentage increase of the minimum wage ever, to raise the minimum wage above 400 euro," Mali said in an interview with public television RTS.
Earlier, the government increased the minimum hourly net wage to 230 dinars from 201.2 dinars, as of January 1, 2023.
The latest data published by the national statistical office showed that Serbia's consumer price inflation slowed to 12.5% year-on-year in July, after easing to 13.7% the month before.
