Italy: Enel boosts parental leave policy and plans recruitment for distribution network

Enel, the Italian state-controlled energy group, has signed two agreements in quick succession with the Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl and Uiltec trade unions. The first of those deals, applicable at group level, improves the parental leave policy, particularly as regards pay. The other agreement meanwhile seeks to bolster staff numbers at Enel's electricity distribution subsidiary at a time when huge investments are planned in the electricity network.

Parental leave pay hiked

Under the agreement struck on 24 January, the paternity leave allowance for Enel staff will be doubled, compared to the 10 days required by law. From 1 January 2023, new fathers will be entitled to 20 days of leave (30 if they have twins).…
