Briefing:
This event is an occasion to promote open debate on new developments in virtual work and the prospects for labour and their representatives for regulation, democratization, and the creation of sustainable “good work”.

The two editors of the recently published book Policy implications of virtual work will present the main findings of this publication which presents and analyses an array of policy implications emerging from the many different sides of virtual work: conceptual debates, measuring virtual work, discourses and levels of policy intervention, the role of the sharing and collaborative economy, issues for creative industries, and challenges and chances for organized labour, law and regulation. A variety of cases, sectors, policy arenas and practices are examined toward the goal of navigating potential alternatives for policy and regulation in a landscape that is multi-layered and complex. This timely debate is highly relevant for trade unions, but also for EU policy actors and the academic community.
